Thoughtful planning
A clear itinerary built around our firsthand discoveries, with carefully considered stays and practical arrival and departure details.
Travel can change how you see the world and the people around you. We bring together extraordinary experiences, lifelong learning, and personal connection, guided by places we know firsthand.
SPACE TO EXPLORE · SPACE TO JUST BEWe plan around places we’ve visited, food we’ve enjoyed, and experiences we’ve had ourselves. We remember the view, the welcome, the quality of a meal, and the feeling of being somewhere special. Those firsthand discoveries shape what we share with you.
Our standard runs through the whole journey: where we explore, where we sleep, where we eat, and the cafés where we stop along the way. We look for quality, character, beauty, and a real connection to the place.
Sometimes that means a remarkable hotel. Sometimes it’s an unassuming restaurant with extraordinary food, a café on a mountainside, or a side street with shops you might otherwise walk past. We value the experience itself, wherever we find it.
A forest becomes a place to notice wildlife and ask how an ecosystem works. A river canyon brings geology to life. Coffee cherries, cacao beans, local food, and the Panama Canal open conversations about plants, culture, and how the world connects. The places we visit and the people we meet open up those conversations.
We weave learning into the experience, with children and adults out in the fresh air together: walking, hiking, observing, asking, and trying. Randy and Jules share practical advice and lead the journey, drawing on travels with our own five children. Our Panama journey is shaped around homeschooling and worldschooling families. Curious solo travelers and couples are welcome to inquire, too, with the understanding that this departure follows a family-friendly pace.
We bring together distinctive places to stay, meaningful experiences, excellent food, and time to gather. Along the way, there’s room for rest, independent exploring, and the conversations that make shared travel worthwhile.
The final activities will reflect travelers’ ages and abilities, local conditions, and availability. We’ll talk with you about fit before you commit.
